DETROIT – In just over six months since its introduction, OnStar’s Vehicle Diagnostics service has achieved more than 1 million subscribers, according to Telematics Update. Customers report that the monthly OnStar e-mail provides them significant value and saves them time and money by helping to eliminate unnecessary repairs and maintenance. The e-mail is now available in Spanish, and information such as selling dealership and XM Radio subscription information was recently added to the report. The report also alerts the owner if there is an outstanding recall notice that needs attention. Additional service enhancements to be rolled out soon include local fuel station information for E-85 flex-fuel-compatible vehicles, according to the report. According to a recent exclusive article in Inside Line, OnStar is also working on another new service that would alert customers when their tires are underinflated.
