MiX Telematics, a global provider of fleet and mobile asset management solutions, will increase its focus on the evolving New Zealand transport industry. The company said it will continue to work on introducing innovative telematics solutions that cater to this specific market.
MiX Telematics has been operating in New Zealand since 2004 through a partnership with Wellington- and Auckland-based Vehicle Technologies. The successful relationship has already established a strong network of clients in the market including NZ Bus, Fonterra, New Zealand Defence Force, Dyne's Transport Group, Rentokil-Initial, and also introduced overseas projects in Russia, the United States and Romania, according to the company.
MiX Telematics said that its In-Vehicle Monitoring System (IVMS) delivers up to 10 percent savings on annual fuel costs, reduces vehicle wear-and-tear, enhances operational efficiencies and reliability while improving driver behavior, increasing passenger comfort and lowering CO2 emissions. The solution consists of a device that is fitted to the vehicle's electronics system and supported with a RIBAS in-cab display that provides real-time feedback on driver performance across five categories: Over-Revving, Excessive Idling, Harsh Braking, Harsh Acceleration, and Over-Speeding (RIBAS). The solution provides fleet operators, managers, and owners with an opportunity to identify where driver training is required to improve operational efficiencies.
