Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc., is recalling an estimated 14,791 2018-2019 Mitsubishi Outlander compact SUVs equipped with 18-inch alloy wheels because the certification label lists the wrong rear wheel rim size.
Misinformation on the label could potentially cause the operator to replace the rim with an incorrect rim size, increasing the likelihood of a collision.
To fix the problem, Mitsubishi will notify owners and mail them a corrected certification label, at no cost. Owners can also opt to have the label replaced by a dealer at no cost.
The recall begins Sept. 26. The number for this recall is SR-18-006. Owners can reach Mitsubishi's customer service at (888) 648-7820.
