Minnesota DNR Enrolls 2,000 Drivers in GreenDriver Training Program
ST. PAUL, MN – By training drivers how to operate vehicles more efficiently, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources expects to reduce annual fuel consumption by at least 70,000 gallons.
ST. PAUL, MN – The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will enroll 2,000 drivers in GreenDriver's online training and certification program.The department expects to "reduce fuel consumption by at least 5 percent, which equates to about 70,000 gallons of fuel and 600,000 lbs. of CO2 annually."
"This is a perfect partnership for GreenDriver," said Dave Dufresne, VP of product management, GreenDriver. "Minnesota DNR's mission is to protect the environment, and by training their drivers, they will be making a significant contribution on their own impact."
GreenDriver's online course is based on industry best practices and fact-based studies that teach drivers to understand how vehicle maintenance, trip preplanning, and small changes in behavior can directly impact fuel consumption and CO2 output.
"I am impressed by the depth and quality of information provided by GreenDriver," said Dave Schiller, DNR fleet, safety, and materials manager. "I expect this training will be well-received by the DNR, and I am confident that this will result in a real reduction of our greenhouse gas emissions."
