BMW of North America is recalling 5,805 2014 model-year MINI Cooper Hardtop two-door cars because the spare wheel may have been attached under the car with a nut that’s not self-locking, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports.
Vibrations from everyday driving may, over time, loosen the nut in question and the wheel could separate from the car, posing a road hazard and crash risk, NHTSA said.
