Merchants Fleet, the nation’s leader in innovative fleet solutions, celebrated the grand opening of its pioneering 'AmpedUp' project with a ribbon-cutting ceremony this week at its headquarters in Hooksett, NH. This landmark project marks the largest workplace electric vehicle (EV) charging installation in New Hampshire.

“We are thrilled to be setting the stage for responsible transportation in NH, and for our clients throughout North America who are relying on Merchants to help navigate all aspects of their electrification journey,” said Lisa Drake, Assistant Director of Electrification at Merchants Fleet.

The unveiling coincides with the 7th Annual NH Energy Week, specifically on ‘Transportation Tuesday’, emphasizing Merchants Fleet’s commitment to leading responsible transportation solutions throughout the Granite State. NH Energy Week is a series of events hosted by partner organizations to advance a sustainable and economic energy future for the Granite State. Serving as the Lead Organizing Partner, Clean Energy NH helps to provide opportunities for the public to learn more about the future of NH’s clean energy transition.

The Tuesday event featured key stakeholders from Merchants and its energy and utility partners, who have played a crucial role in the success of this initiative.

"This event demonstrates that businesses can thrive while also prioritizing environmental responsibility," said Sam Evans-Brown, Executive Director of Clean Energy NH. "Merchants’ installation sets a positive example for future generations of Granite Staters, to think bigger and bolder about our impact on the environment.”

Initiated in spring 2022, the AmpedUp project enhances Merchants’ workplace charging capabilities by adding 13 Level 2 charging ports, increasing the total to 25. These ports are powered by local solar energy, utilizing solar renewable energy credits (SRECs). The facility serves as a testing ground for product innovation and supports the charging needs of Merchants’ corporate EV fleet and employee vehicles. The infrastructure is scalable, with potential expansion to accommodate up to 52 ports including Level 2 and Level 3 DC Fast Charging options.
