Mercedes-Benz Recalls C-Class 4Matic Cars for Steering
Dealers will fix the problem by updating the power steering control unit software in more than 28,000 C300 and C400 4Matic sedans.

Mercedes-Benz USA is recalling 28,452 2015 model-year C300 and C400 4Matic sedans so dealers can fix an error in the electric power steering control unit software, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said.
The recall covers vehicles manufactured Jan. 27-Dec. 1 in 2014. The software glitch might result in a loss of electric power steering assist. Such a loss would require extra steering effort by the driver, especially at lower speeds. This condition increases the risk of a crash, NHTSA said.
Mercedes-Benz dealers will update the power steering software, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin this month.
