Mercedes-Benz Launches All-electric EQS SUV Sales

The models can be ordered now and will reach the first customers in Europe in December, according to a company statement. The model series is produced in a CO2-neutral manner at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

All-electric EQS SUV prices start at €110,658.10 (USD $112,666) for the EQS 450+. EQS 450 4MATIC and EQS 580 4MATIC cost €114,446.10 (USD $116,513) and €135,291.10 (USD $137,735) respectively.

Mercedes-Benz has launched sales of its first all-electric SUV in the EQ model line, available in three variants, each with zero CO2 emissions.

The EQS 450+ offers combined power consumption of  22.9-18.2 kWh/100 km; the EQS 450 4MATIC features combined power consumption of 24.3‑20.2 kWh/100 km; and the EQS 580 4MATIC provides combined power consumption: 24.3-20.2 kWh/100 km.

All-electric EQS SUV prices start at €110,658.10 (USD $$112,666) for the EQS 450+. EQS 450 4MATIC and EQS 580 4MATIC cost €114,446.10 (USD $116,513) and €135,291.10 (USD $137,735) respectively.

Three model types, differing in exterior and interior details, are available:

  • Standard exterior and Electric Art Line interior

  • Electric Art Exterior & Electric Art Interior

  • AMG Line Exterior & AMG Line Interior


The SUV’s interior features standard electrically adjustable second row of seats; a third row of seats with two additional individual seats is optional. The seats in the EQS SUV fold up from the load floor mechanically, and when seats are folded, the floor is level. In combination with the third row of seats, an easy entry function is standard in the second row of seats.

Equipment packages are available with the EQS SUV: Advanced, Advanced Plus, Premium, Premium Plus and Business Class. Package availability depends on model type. Several optional extras are also available individually

Developed for Mercedes-Benz electric vehicle owners, the Mercedes me Charge plan offers three new favorable charging tariffs in Europe tailored to individual driving performance.

EQS SUV customers registered with Mercedes me Charge will initially be placed on the Mercedes me Charge L tariff. This tariff is designed for customers travelling long distances. In the first year, these new car buyers do not have to pay any basic fee, from the second year onwards it is €17.90 (about USD $18) per month.
