McNeilus Recalling Certain Bridgemaster Concrete Mixers
The safety recall affects 978 Bridgemaster V Concrete Mixers equipped with Hendrickson trailer axles using a square axle cross tube.
McNeilus Truck and Manufacturing Inc. is recalling 978 Bridgemaster V Concrete Mixers equipped with Hendrickson trailer axles using a square axle cross tube, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported.
In the affected vehicles, the fender may be insufficiently tightened to the trailing axle and the fender-mounting bracket may crack and fail. This could potentially result in the fender, fender tube or both detaching from the axle. This condition poses a safety risk, NHTSA said.
McNeilus service facilities will replace the fender brackets with new mounting hardware, free of charge. The recall gets under way this month.
