Mazda6 Recalled to Fix Fuel Tank
The fuel tank in 19,000 2014-MY cars can be filled beyond rated capacity, posing a fire risk.

Mazda North America Operations is recalling 19,000 2014 model-year Mazda6 sedans because the fuel tank can be filled beyond its rated capacity, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports.
The recall covers Mazda6 cars manufactured from Oct. 25, 2012, through May 9, 2013.
If the tank is overfilled, gas may flow into the charcoal canister -- an evaporative emissions component -- and possibly leak from the canister's external vent. This poses a fire risk, NHTSA said.
To resolve the problem, Mazda dealers will make an inspection and add an adapter to the shut-off valve in the fuel tank. They will also inspect the charcoal canister for the presence of gasoline. Necessary repairs will be free of charge.
