Mazda North American Operations is recalling 14,406 2015-2016 model-year Mazda3 cars, so dealers can address a potential fuel leak problem tied to the fuel tank shut-off valve, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported.
These cars, manufactured this year from May 21 to Aug. 25, are equipped with a fuel tank shut-off valve that can allow fuel to enter into the fuel tank emissions system. If enough fuel enters the emissions system, fuel may leak out onto the ground. Such a fuel leak may result in an engine stall, NHTSA said, and also poses a fire risk.
