WASHINGTON, D.C. --- Mazda is recalling 29,000 MY 2009 Mazda6 vehicles because the outer door handles may stick and prevent the door from latching, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration website.
As a result of the problem, the door may open while the vehicle is in motion, creating a safety hazard -- particularly for unbelted occupants.
Dealers will inspect the door handles to determine whether repair or replacement is necessary. There will be no charge for this service.
