Live Global Bid Australia Pty Ltd. announced that its LiveGlobalBid online bidding software will be deployed by Sydney auctioneer Bonhams & Goodman for their upcoming Rock n’ Roll memorabilia auction being held on Sun. Aug. 29 at their Double Bay show rooms.

This Rock n’ Roll memorabilia auction is of items collected by the late Wane “Swampy” Jarvis who was a much loved and respected member of the global entertainment industry. For more than 40 years he worked in the rock n’ roll industry and was the man behind many of the worlds greatest ever rock concert tours including Elton John, AC/DC, Frank Sinatra, Bryan Adams, Madonna, Ricky Martin, Shania Twain, Barbra Streisand, and the Bee Gees. Last year Swampy died suddenly, leaving behind a mountain of memorabilia.

“By using the power of the Internet, the LiveGlobalBid software will expand our audience and create a new distribution channel that will facilitate the sale of this memorabilia by rapidly liquidating inventory thus increasing competition, asset value and significantly improving inventory turnover, “ said Giles Moon, head of collectables at Bonhams and Goodman.

Some highlights from the Wane Swampy Jarvis auction include the microphones that were used by the Beatles at the Melbourne Festival Hall in 1964, posters signed by Frank Sinatra, Liza Minelli, and Sammy Davis Jr., a jacket worn onstage by AC/DC’s Angus Young and Glenn Frey's Takamine guitar signed by all of the Eagles.

“The LiveGlobalBid software works by filming the on site auction, digitizing the audio and video content using proprietary compression software, then, uploading of the content to our central servers,” said Niall Power, managing director of Live Global Bid Australia. “From these central servers, the live audio and video feed is streamed to the desktop of each registered Internet bidder,” he added.

In Australia, the LiveGlobalBid software has been successfully installed by some of Australia’s leading auctioneers including Pickles, and DMS Auction Services.

Auction: Sun., Aug. 29 at 1p.m. Viewing: Thurs., Aug. 26 and Friday, August 27 from 10a.m.–5p.m. and Sat., Aug. 28 from 10a.m.-4p.m. and on the sale day from 9a.m.
