ALPHARETTA, GA – LeasePlan USA recently surprised the Atlanta Children's Shelter (ACS) with keys to a Chrysler minivan. The ACS was the first organization to participate in the LeasePlan Cares program, formed this year to provide an avenue for community involvement and social responsibility for all LeasePlan USA employees. The shelter provides free day care to homeless families.
"Providing the minivan to the shelter was a great way to start the New Year. I am proud of the LeasePlan employees that have volunteered at the shelter, conducted fundraisers and food/clothing drives, among other things, throughout this year in an effort to assist the ACS in serving our community," said Mike Pitcher, president and CEO for LeasePlan USA.
"LeasePlan has made a tremendous impact on our children with the generous donation of the minivan," said Dr. Jackie Brown, executive director for ACS. "It will be an incredible help in transporting the preschool children to cultural and enrichment venues around the city."
The donated minivan was one of LeasePlan's off-lease vehicles. One of LeasePlan's auction partners, Alabama Auto Auction, volunteered to perform all the necessary preventive maintenance free of charge prior to transporting it to Atlanta.
