Land Rover Recalling LR2 SUVs

WASHINGTON - Jaguar Land Rover North America is recalling nearly 3,000 MY 2010-2011 LR2 vehicles because of an air bag problem.

WASHINGTON - Jaguar Land Rover North America is recalling nearly 3,000 MY 2010-2011 LR2 vehicles because of an air bag problem.

The vehicles covered in the safety recall were all manufactured from Nov. 2, 2009 through Aug. 23, 2010. The shorting bar in the clock spring may have become disconnected when the driver's air bag module connector was installed. As a result, the driver's frontal air bag may not deploy properly in the event of a crash, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

To remedy the problem, Land Rover dealers will install a spacer into the driver's air bag clock spring harness connector. This repair will be performed free of charge. The safety recall is expected to get underway this month.
