Land Rover has launched a commercial version of the Land Rover Discovery in the U.K., which has a similar foundation to the regular Discovery but eliminates second and third row seating in favor of approximately 65.5 cubic-feet of cargo space.
The Land Rover Discovery Commercial, which retains the exterior design of the Discovery, is available with 4WD drive on the automakers 2.0-lite SD4 diesel and 3.0-litre six cylinder TD6 engines, according to the automaker. It features automatic transmission, twin-speed transfer box, air suspension and a full-size spare wheel, and has more responsive handling than the regular Discovery.
Standard features on the Discovery Commercial include autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, heated windscreen and rear window, heated door mirrors, DAB radio, a tire pressure monitoring system, hill launch assist, dynamic stability control, roll stability control, cornering brake control, and more
Also available is Land Rover’s Terrain Response systems which optimize the vehicle’s engine, gearbox, and center differential and chassis systems to match the demands of the terrain, the automaker said in a release. Meanwhile, rear window concealment panels are masked by privacy glass so Discovery Commercial can be undistinguishable as a commercial vehicle, if desired.
Pricing for the Discovery Commercial starts at approximately $65,986 and $68,019 for the 2.0-lite and 3.0-litre engines, respectively. The Discovery Commercial is available in S, SE and HSE trims.
