Kelley Fleet Services Goes International with SAB Contract
MISSION VIEJO, CA - Kelley Fleet Services' new Global Fleet Services subsidiary has been awarded a comprehensive vehicle repair and maintenance contract by the ABI subsidiary of South African Breweries Ltd, South Africa's largest brewery and beverage manufacturing and distribution company.
MISSION VIEJO, CA - Kelley Fleet Services, LLC, a fleet services management company in the United States, announced Sept. 30 that its new Global Fleet Services subsidiary has been awarded a comprehensive vehicle repair and maintenance contract by the ABI subsidiary of South African Breweries Ltd, South Africa's largest brewery and beverage manufacturing and distribution company.
Under the terms of the contract, Kelley will provide maintenance and repair services to ABI for its approximately 1,600 truck tractors, rigids, semi-trailers and forklifts as well as perform all tire repair and maintenance. Kelley's services will be performed at four hub locations and with mobile maintenance units, servicing 14 facilities across the ABI distribution network in Johannesburg, Durban, and surrounding areas. The company anticipates the initial hiring of as many as 50 South African employees including managers, artisans, and others in connection with the new engagement and will commence operations in October.
While the contract marks the company's first expansion outside of North America, the company said it is also pursuing additional international opportunities.
This latest announcement comes on the heels of July's news that KelleyAmerit Fleet Services, Inc. - a strategic partnership of Kelley Fleet Services and Amerit Consulting - had been awarded the telecommunication industry's largest-ever contract for vehicle repair and maintenance services by AT&T.
