VIENNA, VA – The Network of Employers for Traffic Safety (NETS) has elected Sandra Lee, Director, Worldwide Fleet Safety for Johnson & Johnson, as its NETS Board Chairperson for 2012 and 2013. The organization said Lee replaces Bill Windsor, Associate Vice President for Nationwide Insurance, after his two-year term. Lee is responsible for Johnson & Johnson’s SAFE Fleet and safety policy for Johnson & Johnson’s more than 33,000 drivers across the globe.
“NETS mission is very much in line with Johnson & Johnson’s commitment to global road safety,” said Lee. “I look forward to building upon NETS’ successes as we continue to collaborate with our corporate members and public sector partners to boost the contributions employers can make to driver safety worldwide.”
While serving on the Board previously, Lee contributed to NETS’ role as a member of the United Nations Road Safety Collaboration, the principal steering committee for the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2020, according to the organization. Lee also helped shape NETS Strength in Numbers Fleet Safety Benchmark program and has consistently been a member of the steering committee for its annual Drive Safely Work Week campaign, the organization stated.
“NETS is privileged to have a Board comprised of the best executive leadership, committed to advancing not only fleet safety but the driving safety of all employees, their family members and the communities served by employers,” said Jack Hanley, NETS Executive Director. “Sandra understands the complexity of road safety challenges around the world and brings to the Chairmanship a passion for reducing the toll of traffic crashes both in the U.S. and worldwide.”
According to her biography on NETS’ website, Lee was the Health & Safety Director, responsible for health and safety services provided to North America Consumer and Personal Care Companies within Johnson & Johnson and for facilitating ergonomics risk reduction efforts within that group.
She holds a BS degree in Nutritional Sciences and a Master’s degree, Public Health in Health Education from the University of California, Los Angeles. She is certified as a Health Education Specialist and certified in Process Excellence. She is a member of NAFA and the American Public Health Association.
