Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is recalling an estimated 11,463 2011 to 2018 Jeep Wrangler compact SUVs for a seat belt issue. Specifically, the driver's seat belt buckle mounting strap in these vehicles may break and separate from the seat frame.
A separated or severed seat belt buckle means the seat belt is no longer operable, which increases the likelihood of injury in the event of a collision.
To remedy the problem, FCA will notify owners, and dealers will replace the driver's seat belt buckle, at no cost to owners.
The recall begins Nov. 15. Owners can reach FCA customer service (800) 853-1403. FCA's reference number for this recall is VA6.
