FCA US is recalling 14,768 2015-2016 model-year Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango SUVs because faulty brake calipers may lengthen braking distance, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The recall covers vehicles manufactured from Dec. 9, 2015, to Jan. 14 of this year. In these SUVs, the left front brake caliper may crack because it’s made from the wrong material. As a result, the braking distance may lengthen, posing a crash risk, NHTSA said.
