Jaguar XF Sedans Recalled for Fire Risk

The recall, set to begin Dec. 19, covers more than 5,000 luxury cars in the 2013-2015 model years.

Jaguar Land Rover North America is recalling 5,081 2013- to 2015-model year Jaguar XF sedans because of potential fuel leaks that pose a fire risk, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The vehicles at issue were manufactured from May 22, 2013, to June 15, 2015, and are equipped with 2.0L GTDi engines. The luxury sedans may lack enough clearance between the under-floor fuel delivery lines and the under-shield and body, allowing the fuel lines to chafe and potentially lead to a fuel leak.

“A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire,” NHTSA warned on its website.

Jaguar dealers will inspect the fuel line for abrasions, replacing it if necessary and installing additional clips. There will be no charge for this service.

The recall is expected to begin Dec. 19. Vehicle owners can reach Jaguar customer service at (800) 452-4827. Jaguar's number for this recall is J077.
