Isuzu Recalling N/W Series Commercial Trucks

Isuzu Manufacturing Services of America Inc. is recalling 1,774 2001-2013 model-year Isuzu N-Series; 2001-2010 MY Chevrolet and GMC W-Series; 2001-2004 MY Isuzu FRR and 2001-2004 MY Chevrolet and GMC WT5500 trucks.

The affected vehicles are equipped with an optional oil pan heater (RPO code IG3), according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Debris may collect at the contact point of the heater plug and the extension cord, which may cause overheating of the extension cord. This poses a fire risk.

Isuzu dealers will inspect the trucks. The extension cord and damaged components will be replaced, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin in August.
