VILLANOVA, PA — Ralph J. Jamgochian (Jamic), 73, of Villanova, a retired fleet manager for Aramark Corp., died of pancreatic cancer on Jan. 31 at home in Villanova. Jamgochian grew up in Springfield, Delaware County, and graduated from Central High School in Philadelphia. During the Korean War, he served in the Army in Austria. After his discharge, he earned a bachelor's degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. For several years, he and his brother, Herb, also deceased, ran a business rebuilding vending machine equipment. When they sold their company to ARA, now Aramark, Jamgochian went to work for the food service supplier. He worked there for 50 years. Jamgochian was married to Lillian Basmajian in 1961. The couple, whose parents were Armenian immigrants, met at a Christmas party for Armenian young people. Mrs. Jamgochian said her husband's life was his church, his children, and his home. He enjoyed home improvement projects and travel. He had served on the board of the Delaware County Christian School. Jamgochian also is survived by sons Leigh and Andrew; two sisters; and two granddaughters. He was buried at Valley Forge Gardens in King of Prussia, Pa.
