Hyundai Motor Co. is recalling 218 2017-model year Ioniq electric vehicles because they’re at risk for stalling, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Manufacturing defects within the electronic power control unit (EPCU) may allow coolant to contact the unit’s circuit board. “If coolant contacts the EPCU, a stall may result, increasing the risk of a crash,” NHTSA warned on its website.
