As auction operations embrace new technologies and ways to sell and move cars, the managers in all aspects of the business will gain more options in handling a new environment.

A session at the Conference of Automotive Remarketing, “Role Shifts for Auction Managers,” will explore how auctions can better compete and operate in an industry that is consolidating and diversifying its business models.

Moderated by Julie Warpool, the COO of Auction Edge Inc., the session will offer insights from panelists Jim Mumford, Dealers Auto Auction of the Southwest, Trish Short, Akron Auto Auction, David Andrews, City Enterprises, and Trevor Ottley, Mid-Kansas Auto Auction. The panel will be held Wednesday, March 27 at 4 p.m. at the Hilton at the Peak in Phoenix.

Automotive remarketing managers and leaders will learn more about “recognizing and embracing thought diversity in our industry with topics covering inclusive ways and best practices to empower our managers to lead through change,” Warpool said.

The audience will gain from the following key takeaways:

  • Hear through the lens of different auction operators and their practical ideas to problem solving

  • Learn how these auctions are implementing technology

  • The ROI of people development: value of thoughtful employee development; blending formal theory with on-the-job application.

  • Best practices for having an all-encompassing workforce

  • Staying true to values while embarking on the unknown

CAR, founded in 1995, will be held March 26-28 with early bird registration through Feb. 23.
