Honda is recalling and estimated 403 2019 Honda Ridgeline midsize pickups and Pilot midsize SUVs due to a structural issue that could impact the deployment of curtain airbags.

Specifically, the mounting hole that secures the right center pillar trim may be larger than intended. In the event of a collision requiring right side curtain air bag deployment, the clip may fail to hold the center trim panel in position and it could interfere with the curtain airbag deployment, which increases the likelihood of injury.

To fix the problem, Honda will notify owners, and dealers will install a bracket on the right side center pillar that will securely hold the center pillar trim clip, at no cost to owners.
