Honda Recalls Accord Hybrids for Stalling Risk
The recall, set to begin Nov. 6, involves 6,786 vehicles in the 2014 and 2015 model years.

American Honda Motor Co. is recalling 6,786 2014-2015 model-year Honda Accord Hybrid cars because electrical interference may cause the hybrid system to switch into fail-safe mode and disable the gasoline engine, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported.
If this occurs, the vehicle will function solely on battery power and its speed will be limited to 40 miles per hour. Once the battery is discharged, the vehicle will stall, NHTSA said.
The vehicles were manufactured from Aug. 29, 2013, to May 30 of this year.
To resolve the problem, Honda dealers will update software related to the hybrid battery cell voltage sensor, Honda said. There will be no charge for this service.
"No injuries have been reported related to this issue, which was discovered through the warranty claim process," Honda said in a released statement about the recall.
The recall is expected to begin Nov. 6, according to NHTSA.
