American Honda Motor Co. is recalling 303,904 2008-2009 model-year Honda Accord sedans because the side-impact sensor calibrations may be overly sensitive, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said.
As a result of this condition, the side air bag inflatable curtains, seat air bags or both may unexpectedly deploy when the ignition is on and the door is slammed or there’s an impact with road debris, NHTSA said. Such sudden air bag deployment poses a safety risk.
