Holman Automotive Group and ARI, a global fleet services provider specializing in complex car and truck fleets, were honored by the United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey with two awards during the organization’s annual campaign awards celebration on May 20.

Together, Holman Automotive and ARI received the Champion for Impact award which recognizes these organizations' longstanding commitments to the United Way and its mission to improve the lives of those less fortunate. In support of the United Way’s annual LIVE UNITED campaign, Holman and ARI raised more than $1 million for the third consecutive year while also participating in the annual Day of Caring initiative. Holman Automotive and ARI also received the LIVE UNITED Advocate award which honors companies that donate at least $100,000. Other honorees included American Water, Campbell Soup Company, L-3 Communication Systems, TD Bank, N.A. and UPS.

“The measurable, lasting impact that can be achieved when organizations throughout a community collaborate to implement change is truly remarkable,” said Holman Automotive President and Chief Executive Officer Mindy Holman. “Philanthropy and community service have been very important parts of our corporate philosophy and continue to be fundamental to us as an organization. It is an honor to be recognized alongside some of the region’s iconic companies that share that same commitment to giving back to the communities that help to support our success.”

“I would also like to thank all of our employees for their dedication and commitment year after year to the United Way,” Holman continued. “Their willingness to step up and embrace the mission of the United Way and the lasting change it can bring to the lives of people living in our region and across the nation is nothing short of remarkable, and I am extremely grateful for their support.”

This year’s campaign was the first national campaign for Holman Automotive and ARI, encompassing all of the organizations’ locations within the United States, with the funds raised being channeled directly to the local communities that each location serves. Notably, 77 percent of the $1.1 million was designated specifically to the United Way’s Impact Fund, which focuses on four core areas: education, income, health and basic needs. The United Way has found that investing in these four critical areas leads to real and meaningful change.

The mission of the United Way is to improve the lives of those less fortunate by mobilizing the caring power of communities around the world to advance the common good. The United Way envisions a world where individuals and families achieve their human potential through education, income stability and healthy living.
