Southeast Toyota Distributors (SET) is recalling 3,233 Toyota vehicles because the wiring for their heated seats might short.

Compression of the seat cushions can eventually damage the seat heater wiring, which raises the prospect of electrical shorting.

To resolve the problem, dealers will disconnect heaters with copper strand heating elements and refund the purchase price of the accessory, according to NHTSA.

The recall affects the following vehicles:

2010-2011 Prius
2010-2011Corolla
2009-2011 Venza
2006-2010 Avalon
2007-2010 FJ Cruiser
2005-2011 Sienna
2005-2011 Sequoia
2006-2011 Tacoma 4x2 and 4x4
2006-2011 Camry
2006-2011 Highlander
2006-2011 Tundra 4x2 and 4x4
2007-2011 Rav4
2007-2011 4Runner

The recall was set to get under way last week. Owners can reach SET customer service at (866) 405-4226.

SET, based in Deerfield Beach, Fla., is the world's largest independent distributor of Toyotas and Scions. Company facilities distribute vehicles and auto parts to 176 independent Toyota dealers in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina and South Carolina.
