During the upcoming Global Fleet Conference in Miami, Fla., fleet experts from two of the largest multinational companies in the world will give attendees some practical advice about how to develop a successful global fleet policy. This will be one of several case studies creating a framework for the third annual conference, which will be held June 15-16.
Although there are significant differences around the world in terms of taxation, local governance, and vehicle preferences, developing a global fleet policy is fundamental to creating global fleet excellence. The challenge is developing policy that is generic enough to be applicable throughout the world and specific enough to meet local fleet needs.
The roundtable audience participation discussion with Gage Wagoner, senior manager, North American Fleet Management for Philips Electronics and the 2014 Professional Fleet Manager of the Year; Pim Deweerdt, global commodity manager leased cars for Philips Electronics; and Cristina Ivan, global fleet program director for Hewlett-Packard will provide proven real-world applications on how to define managerial and operational consistency around the world. The discussion will be moderated by Mike Antich, editor of Automotive Fleet, and Steven Schoefs, editor of Fleet Europe.
The panel will discuss the importance of establishing standard global processes that are consistent throughout the world and techniques to create the framework to develop effective global fleet management tools. The panelists will explain how to structure fleet policies — globally, regionally, and locally.
Produced by Bobit Business Media and Nexus Communication, the Global Fleet Conference, now in its third year, will be held June 15-16 at the Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay in Miami, Fla.
