Harrah’s Reno, along with Harrah’s and Harveys Lake Tahoe, installed electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at all three hotel casino properties. Access to the EV charging stations is free to the public. Nevada Lt. Governor Brian Krolicki, Harrah’s, Schneider Electric, and other local dignitaries gathered at the Harrah’s Reno charging stations for the grand opening celebration August 16, 2013.
Caesars Entertainment Corporation, a casino entertainment company, now has eight newly-installed stations at Harrah’s Reno and another eight stations located at its Lake Tahoe properties, according to Ceasers Entertainment. Caesars Entertainment’s sustainability program CodeGreen is the key driver in the company’s commitment to provide low-carbon solutions to reduce water, energy, and waste consumption at all Caesars resorts, Ceasers Entertainment said.
The charging stations are supplied by Schneider Electric’s EVlink brand. The EVlink charging solution has a LCD screen that displays instructions, status, and usage information. It is ChargePoint-network enabled, delivering real-time notifications from the EVlink station during charging. The outdoor charging stations are UL listed, a safety testing and certification listing, and have SAE J1772 compliance, a North American standard for EV electrical connectors, ensuring compatibility with any EV entering the market today.
