GM is recalling the 2018 GMC Terrain because of a defect involving the module that activates the airbags.

General Motors is recalling an estimated 88,129 2018 GMC Terrain compact SUVs because the sensing diagnostic module may not deactivate properly when the vehicle is powered off, and can prevent airbags from deploying.
The module supplies crash sensing and activates the vehicle's airbags during a crash. If airbags do not deploy in a crash, the risk of injury is increased.
To fix the problem, GM dealers will reprogram the module with updated software. Presently, GM has not said when the company will notify customers.
This recall affects vehicles produced between March 14, 2017 and May 22 in the U.S. The automaker is not aware of any accidents or injuries associated with this recall.
