General Motors' GMC Division has announced the introduction of the 2004 Envoy XUV. According to GM, it is an adaptable SUV with high levels of versatility and innovation. Some features of the Envoy are a power-sliding rear roof that converts the cargo area from a fully-enclosed to an open air space, a Midgate with power glass that can be raised or lowered, sealing off the passenger compartment from the rear cargo area, an all-weather cargo area engineered to be heavy-duty and weather-resistant, and a drop or swing tailgate with power window, providing easier loading and unloading. "Envoy XUV is an outstanding compliment to the Envoy family and to GMC's portfolio of professional grade products," said Lynn Myers, Pontiac-GMC general manager. Envoy XUV will make its public debut in September at the Texas State Fair. Production begins mid-2003 at GM's Oklahoma City plant.
