The Chevrolet Spark EV’s manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) will be reduced by $1,650, to $25,995, General Motors has announced. The Spark EV is eligible for federal tax credits of up to $7,500.

California and Maryland Spark EV owners may also qualify for a $2,500 California state rebate or $2,300 Maryland excise tax exemption, and Chevrolet is contributing bonus cash to Spark EV owners in California ($1,000), Maryland ($1,200), and Oregon ($3,500), the automaker said.

After full federal and state tax credits and Chevrolet bonus cash, the Spark EV could cost as low as $14,995.

The Spark EV is currently available at select Chevrolet dealers throughout California and Oregon, and select Chevrolet dealers in Maryland will have the vehicle available beginning in mid-2015.

The Spark EV has a combined city/highway EPA-estimated range of 82 miles when fully charged and an EPA-estimated combined city/highway 119 MPGe fuel economy equivalent.
