GM Recalls Trucks, Large SUVs for Brake Issue
General Motors is recalling approximately its 2015 to 2020 Chevrolet Suburban, Tahoe, and Yukon large SUVs, as well as its 2014 to 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 pickups.

General Motors is recalling its 2015 to 2020 Chevrolet Suburban, Tahoe, and GMC Yukon large SUVs, as well as its 2014 to 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 pickups equipped with a 5.3-liter engine, a 3.08-ratio rear axle and four-wheel drive for a brake problem.
There are approximately 638,068 vehicles affected by the recall.
Specifically, if a wheel-speed sensor fails, the electronic brake control module software may activate the driveline-protection system. This scenario can cause unintended braking on the wheel on the opposite side of the failed sensor. This, in turn, can cause the vehicle to pull to one side unexpectedly, increasing the likelihood of a collision.
To fix the problem, GM will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the module, at no cost to owners. GM has not yet released the notification schedule.
