GM Recalls Chevrolet Express, GMC Savana for Seatbelt Warning Issue

General Motors LLC is recalling an estimated 91,399 2019 Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana vehicles for an electrical issue. Specifically, the seatbelt-unfastened warning light fails to illuminate for approximately five seconds after the ignition is moved to the “on” or “start” position.
Without the seatbelt warning reminder, the driver may fail to fasten the seatbelt, which increases the likelihood of injury in the event of a collision.
To fix the problem, GM will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the instrument panel cluster, at no cost to owners.
The automaker has not yet released a notification schedule. Owners can reach Chevrolet customer service at (800) 630-2438 or GMC customer service at (800) 462-8782.
