General Motors provided a brief look at its upcoming Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon at the recent Center for Automotive Research Management Briefing Seminars held Aug. 5-8.
The company’s Dan Ammann, executive vice president and CFO, said these new pickups are designed to be fuel-efficient alternatives to the automaker’s full-size pickups.
Earlier this year, the company’s GM North America President Mark Reuss said the upcoming Canyon and Colorado are entirely new vehicles, and that the Colorado will be more “lifestyle” focused and GMC Canyon is being designed around a more work-oriented duty cycle.
GM said it will start production of the all-new Colorado and Canyon in 2014 at GM’s Wentzville, Mo., assembly center.
