Geotab has ranked the 10 top road trips in the U.S. using data culled from TripAdvisor about  attractions, accommodation, and places to eat, the telematics provider has announced.

The Monument Valley Trails ranked at the top of the list, while Route 66 "fails to live up to its legendary status" and placed 44 out of 55, according to Geotab. Three routes in the Rocky Mountains made the top 10, including Yellowstone and the Tetons, Mesa Verde and San Juan Mountains, and Colorado's Rockies.

  2. Yellowstone and the Tetons

  3. Mesa Verde and San Juan Mountains

  4. Along the Missouri River

  5. Blue Ridge Parkway

"Road trips are a quintessentially American way of traveling," said Maria Sotra, Geotab's vice president of marketing. "With so much different scenery accessible via the country’s sprawling infrastructure network, U.S. road trips are a vacation in and of themselves."
