Geotab Adds Privacy Mode for Personal Use
Geotab will begin allowing fleet drivers to use a Privacy Mode feature with their telematics system to temporarily disable vehicle tracking when using vehicles on personal time, the Toronto-based telematics provider has announced.

Geotab will begin allowing fleet drivers to use a Privacy Mode feature with their telematics system to temporarily disable vehicle tracking when using vehicles on personal time, the Toronto-based telematics provider has announced.
The feature can also be used by organizations that require the exact locations of drivers to be unidentifiable in a particular zone. When a vehicle equipped with a Geotab system is being operated in Privacy Mode, GPS-based features such as position, trips, and speed profiles won't be visible.
Privacy Mode can be set to automatically turn on during certain times of day or in specific geographic regions. It can also be manually assigned in the Geotab Drive mobile app or in MyGeotab in real time. Vehicle data that's collected in this mode is stored as private so businesses won't have access to the data. Users can purge the data after a certain time interval.
