GE Fleet Services announced on September 24 it has entered into agreement with CARFAX, a vehicle history reporting company, to collect and share GE Fleet’s service and maintenance vehicle records with prospective buyers. Effective October 13, 2003, wholesale buyers purchasing used vehicles from GE Fleet Services will be able to access, through CARFAX Vehicle History Reports, extensive documentation on these vehicles’ past service and maintenance. This documentation will cover everything from oil changes to brake replacements. Client vehicles enrolled in GE Fleet Services’ Maintenance Management program will draw added attention at auction with a sticker on the windshield stating the vehicle’s service and maintenance records are available through www.carfaxonline.com. “By providing service and maintenance records through CARFAX Vehicle History Reports, dealers will have access to more data about the key selling points of these vehicles. In addition, more information than ever will be available to consumers, helping them buy the best and safest car for themselves and their families,” said Scott Fredericks, vice president, CARFAX. Dealers that purchase these vehicles will be able to keep the CARFAX stickers on the vehicles’ windshields.
