EDEN PRAIRIE, MN – GE Capital Solutions Fleet Services has been named as one of the Best Workplaces for Commuters by the National Center for Transit Research. Best Workplaces for Commuters program recognizes employers that provide environmentally friendly commuter benefits to employees. Offering these commuter benefits identifies the company as an organization committed to reducing pollution, commuting costs, traffic congestion, and employee stress caused by single-occupant vehicle commuting. Selected employers must meet the National Standard of Excellence in commuter benefits, a standard created by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

GE Capital Solutions Fleet Services offers several benefits that help its employees pursue environmentally friendly and cost-effective commuting strategies. As part of the company's comprehensive commuter benefits program, GE offers commuting options and support services, such as carpool matching, telecommuting, flexible work schedules, and vanpool program, providing several vans for its employees to use. GE partners with 494 Commuter Services to arrange transportation for its employees in the Minnesota metro area.

The only Minnesota-based company to receive the Best Workplace for Commuters designation, GE plans to expand the successful commuter program beyond its Minnesota headquarters location as it continues to look for ways to benefit both employees and the environment through alternative transportation options.

Best Workplaces for Commuters was developed by the EPA and Department of Transportation (DOT). The EPA and DOT established a voluntary National Standard of Excellence for employer-provided commuter benefits. The program challenges employers across the country to voluntarily meet the National Standard of Excellence and is managed by the National Center for Transit Research.
