Gasoline Rises to $3.44 Per Gallon
The national average price of gasoline rose 6.4 cents to $3.444 per gallon for the week ending Monday for a nearly 14-cent rise in two weeks.

The national average price of gasoline rose 6.4 cents to $3.444 per gallon for the week ending Monday for a nearly 14-cent rise in two weeks.
Prices have been rising sharply higher in toward the end of February, according to data released Monday by the U.S. Energy Information Administration. Gasoline is remains lower, by 34 cents, than the same week a year ago.
For the second consecutive week, prices rose in all regions tracked by the U.S. EIA with the sharpest rise coming in the Midwest at 8.2 cents per gallon. In AAA's Daily Fuel Gauge Report, gasoline in 14 states has crossed $3.50 per gallon. Gasoline remained cheapest in Montana ($3.143) and South Carolina ($3.144).
Meanwhile, the national average price of diesel fuel rose 2.8 cents on the week and crossed $4 per gallon at $4.017. Diesel fuel is now 14.2 cents lower than it was a year ago.
