Gasoline Prices Up Since Mid-July, AAA Says
The average price of gasoline nationwide has increased by 1.5 cents a gallon since mid-July, the Automobile Association of America said August 13. Since July 16, the price of regular, self-serve gas has increased to $1.405 from $1.39 a gallon. "In contrast to the previous two summers when fuel prices fluctuated wildly and reached record highs, the nationwide average gasoline price stabilized near $1.40 per gallon last April and has stayed there," AAA said in a release. The price has risen the most in New England - adding 5 cents a gallon to $1.448.
