The average price of a gallon of unleaded gasoline rose 5.8 cents to $2.332 for the week ending Feb. 23 for the fourth consecutive week of increasing fuel prices, according to federal data.
Gasoline remains $1.112 lower than a year ago, yet has begun a steady climb and increased in the nine regions tracked by the U.S. Energy Information Administration. The sharpest increase came in the West Coast region with a 13.6-cent increase to $2.758 per gallon. The lowest increase cam in the Gulf Coast with a 3.5-cent climb to $2.109 per gallon.
