Gasoline Prices Rise to $2.19 Per Gallon
The average price of a gallon of unleaded gasoline rose 12.3 cents to $2.191 per gallon for the week ending Feb. 9 for the only the second consecutive week after a nearly eight-month decline.

The average price of a gallon of unleaded gasoline rose 12.3 cents to $2.191 per gallon for the week ending Feb. 9 for the only the second consecutive week after a nearly eight-month decline.
Even with the slide, gasoline remains $1.118 less than it was a year ago, according to data from the U.S. Department of Energy. Prices rose in nine of the nine regions tracked by the agency. The sharpest increase came on the West Coast where it rose 14.6 cents to $2.474 per gallon. Gasoline remains below $2-per-gallon in the Gulf Coast ($1.984) and Rocky Mountain ($1.946) regions.
The average price is below $2 per gallon in five states, including Idaho ($1.889), Utah ($1.903), Montana ($1.926), South Carolina ($1.968), and Wyoming ($1.986). A week ago, 25 states met that criteria, according to the AAA's Daily Fuel Gauge Report.
Meanwhile, the average price of diesel rose 0.4 cent to $2.835. Diesel costs $1.142 less than it did a year ago.
