The average price of gasoline fell 5.4 cents to $3.539 per gallon for the week ending July 28, reports the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
The price of a gallon of regular unleaded is now 10.7 cents lower than a year ago, continuing a steady price decline that began in the spring. For the week, the price fell in eight of the nine regions tracked by the agency, which is part of the U.S. Department of Energy. Gasoline fell 8.8 cents in the Midwest and rose five-tenths of a cent in the Rocky Mountain region.
