The average price of gasoline fell 2.4 cents to $3.515 per gallon for the week ending Aug. 4, reports the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
The price of a gallon of unleaded gasoline is now 11.7 cents lower than it was a year ago. During the week, the price fell in eight of the nine regions tracked. The sharpest decline came in New England, where the average price fell 4.5 cents to $3.648. Prices increased slightly in the Midwest by seven-tenths of a cent to $3.416.
