The 2014 Green Fleet Conference & Expo will feature four fuel ambassadors representing a different alternative fuel or technology from organizations, including the Electrification Coalition, Diesel Technology Forum, National Biodiesel Board, and Propane Education and Research Council (PERC).

The All-Fuels Super Session this year will take a late-night talk show approach to alternative fuels. Each one of the alternative fuel ambassadors will be interviewed by Richard Battersby, equipment services manager for the City of Oakland.

This general session at the conference, being held Oct. 29-30 in Schaumburg, Illinois, will focus on debunking misconceptions and discussing the future for each alternative fuel.

“The ambassadors are our floor experts so that attendees know who to go to in order to get third-party information on technology, fuel, supplier information and where things are at within a particular industry,” said Joanne Tucker, public relations manager for the Green Fleet Conference.

Outside of the panel discussion, attendees can take exhibit hall tours to visit specific companies related to a particular fuel type. The hall will open Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The hall will open Thursday from 11:05 a.m. to 1:20 p.m. The exhibit hall tours will feature fuel-efficient vehicles, consultancy services, oil filtration technology, biodiesel testing tools, fuel management hardware and software.

Fuel ambassadors will wear special badges so attendees can ask questions, and they can be found in the ambassador lounge.

GFC provides nine hours of workshops and breakout sessions on managing and lowering fuel consumption, broken up into government fleet, commercial fleet and heavy-duty green sessions. The 2014 keynote speakers are Mark Smith from the U.S. Department of Energy’s Clean Cities and John Viera from Ford Motor Co.
