PORTLAND, OR — Freightliner Trucks announced on January 5 that vehicles equipped with a factory-installed Delphi stereo system and SIRIUS Satellite Radio tuner will include one full year of SIRIUS Satellite Radio service for the customer. This offer is available for vehicles built after February 1, 2005. Since its introduction more than two years ago, satellite radio has become a popular feature for commercial vehicle operators. To date, there are an estimated four million satellite radio subscribers, with approximately 600,000 subscribers in the commercial driver market alone. This offer of SIRIUS satellite radio service is available on the Freightliner Coronado, Century Class S/T, Columbia, Classic XL, Classic, FLD SD, Argosy, and all vehicles in the Business Class M2 product. These vehicles must be equipped with a factory-installed Delphi stereo and SIRIUS Satellite Radio tuner and antenna in order to receive the one-year SIRIUS subscription. These audio products are supplied to Freightliner Trucks by Pana-Pacific, the exclusive distributor of Delphi products to the commercial vehicle market. SIRIUS delivers more than 120 channels of commercial-free music, talk shows, news and information, and sports programming to listeners across the country in digital quality sound. SIRIUS offers 65 channels of commercial-free music and features over 55 channels of sports, news, talk, entertainment, traffic, and weather for a monthly subscription fee of $12.95.
